WELCOME to JAiME for SCHOOLS !

Where ALL models of learning in education are considered for their contribution to goodness, growth, health, safety, liberty and justice for all people. The work I do at JAiME for SCHOOLS is a Christ-led mission that includes school research and referrals, community outreach, policy influence, citizen journalism, and family advocacy.
I believe that uniting our community starts in your home, and through you it grows out into the larger world. This website and blog is truly a labor of love that I offer as a donation in time, talent and money through this spirit of unity. All of us have been given special gifts. Let the adults lead by example in showing our children how to LIFT UP rather than break down, FORGIVE rather than denounce, PROTECT rather than expose, and HOPE rather than fear.
Thank you for reading the BLOG and contributing to the community OUTREACH efforts found here.    – Jaime Kokaisel (2024Jan28)
JAiME for SCHOOLS began as a School Board campaign page in September of 2021. After ten years on auto-pilot as a parent, and with her children in the South Washington County Public School District, Jaime made three major life changes. She 1) enrolled her children in Christian Private schools, 2) changed career paths in order to pay for private school tuition, and 3) ran for District 833 School Board.
After her loss in the election, Jaime turned Jaime for School Board into JAiME for SCHOOLS in January 2022.

Paving PATHS Looking FORWARD.

Jaime’s Campaign for District 833 School Board has come to an end, but her message remains the same. The School District must restore its focus on academic proficiency in the core subjects – Reading, Writing, Math and Science.

South Washington County is a district that retains many of its children into adulthood. They grow into workers who own houses here, raise families here, grow businesses here, and prosper the local economy here. Since the majority of school age children attend their SoWashCo boundary school, our future economic success is directly dependent on the School District’s ability to successfully educate its own population.

Minnesota relies on two “systems” to educate the majority of its youth: Parents and Government Schools. When these two systems  do not work together to compliment one another, we have a problem. When these two systems compete with one another, everyone fails.

At the core of Jaime’s message to families, children, teachers, leaders and community members at large is the vital role of PARENT.

Writing Campaign to find order in chaos.

This writing campaign connects the dots in an effort to cross compare models in educational input, output, and experience. Who is succeeding to educate their students best? Bigger is not always better.

JOURNEY With Eyes That Don’t See

What is a Public School District MADE OF? We have to begin by recognizing that every public school is made up of two sets of metrics – those that are FIXED and those that are VARIABLE. One of the best MEANS by which a school can impact positive change is through the literature it assigns. District 833’s PATHWAY OF LOWEST PROFICIENCY is Pullman Elementary to Oltman Middle to Park High School. The Book Review for this study is Slacker by Gordon Korman. Here children learn lessons in social etiquette, about being “positive and never negative,” and about how a JOURNEY of negligence, addiction, dishonesty, indulgence, selfishness, and sloth can reach a happy ending. Is it true that in sowing seeds of death we reap bountiful harvests? No. Sugary fillers do not nourish hungry minds but rather keep them in a state of starvation. If the END justifies the MEANS in Progressive Education, then what END do these MEANS seek to reach?

When You Vote Fake …

… fake becomes you. You take life as your right and then throw it away. When fake is what you manufacture, then fake is what you get … There will come a time when “mother” will be a forgotten word, and “father” a fictional character. In the end you will have helped usher in a new slave generation – kids without parents born of the government, raised into lawlessness, discarded by the counterfeit who sits on God’s throne … You put him there, but the irony is that God allows you your illusions of control … Who is really in control? … not the Man of Lawlessness. – Here I share with you my journal … words written in the dark. The handwriting may be mine, but the thoughts are not my own to claim. I trust that the Lord will do with it what He will.

JOURNEY of Two Mountains – Private vs Public

Each mountain represents its own pathway, its own quest, its own treasure, its own spiritual end. Education is a gift of FREEDOM. Freedom can take one of TWO paths (and two paths only). Path #1 is the freedom to SERVE, and Path #2 is the freedom to SIN. District 833’s PATHWAY OF HIGHEST PROFICIENCY is Liberty Ridge Elementary to Lake Middle to East Ridge High School. There is a spiritual battle going on for the souls of our children, and parents may not even be aware of it. Which mountain will you climb? Whose yoke will you carry? Don’t be tricked into thinking that ‘secular’ means neutral. Behind the walls of Progressive Education is progressive religion : SEL and DEI Rubrics for Literacy.

My process

The residents of South Washington County, MN have a variety of school options available to them. I believe there is tremendous value in recognizing the strengths of each model in order to improve outcomes in education for students all around. Here at JAiME for SCHOOLS I explore PUBLIC AND NON-PUBLIC models of learning, and I do that in a number of ways.

1) Listen.

First, I begin by listening and learning : taking school tours, attending meetings (district, school, and city), reviewing curriculum, policy and procedure, comparing that to state statute, listening to the stories told by stakeholders, and observing language differences.

3) Speak.

Third, I process all that I have learned by writing articles for the Blog and speaking at public events. I write to board members, legislators, and political activists. I speak during public comment to the School Board.

2) Research.

Second, I do my research : submitting public data-requests, organizing student, teacher and parent surveys, reaching out to school staff for answers, reading student-assigned books, clarifying word definitions, and comparing our district to other districts.

4) Connect.

Through it all, I interview teachers, parents and students. I support family and faith-centered candidates, I purchase products from businesses with similar values as mine, and I form relationships with people across the state and in other districts who are doing the same.

Which SCHOOL is the right choice for you?

Look Forward.
