VOTE Jaime Kokaisel for SCHOOL BOARD Nov 7th, 2023.
Over half your tax dollars go to pay for the District 833 public school system, so it is vitally important that our investment in education is contributing to overall economic health. Jaime’s Campaign for District 833 School Board has come to an end, but her message remains the same. The School District must restore its focus on academic proficiency in the core subjects – Reading, Writing, Math and Science.
South Washington County is a district that retains many of its children into adulthood. They grow into workers who own houses here, raise families here, grow businesses here, and prosper the local economy here. Since the majority of school age children attend their SoWashCo boundary school, our future economic success is directly dependent on the School District’s ability to successfully educate its own population.
Minnesota relies on two “systems” to educate the majority of its youth: Parents and Government Schools. It is vital then that these two systems trust and respect one another. At the core of Jaime’s message to families, children, teachers, leaders and community members at large is the vital role of PARENT.
Why I am Running
My motivation to run for District 833 School Board began when my children were in sixth and ninth grade at Lake Middle School and East Ridge High School. About thee years ago I researched over a dozen private,
charter and homeschool options. Once I saw how engaging education COULD be, it became very clear to me that fundamental goodness was missing in our public schools.
GOOD grades, GOOD behavior, GOOD choices.
Since running for school board in 2021, I have continued to explore PUBLIC and NON-PUBLIC K-12 models of learning. I believe there is tremendous value in recognizing the strength that each model offers to prepare our students for the WORKFORCE.
In many cases the cost per ADM (Average Daily Membership) is very similar between public and non-public schooling. What troubles me most is the drastic difference in outcomes, both in academic proficiency and in HOPE overall for the future.
We, the district of South Washington County, HAVE a firm foundation to produce excellence. We have appropriate funding, passionate teachers, active parents and strong families. We must restore our focus on academics, look forward and pave paths to excellence for all students.

Equipped For The Call
The last three years have prepared me for what is to come … Of that I am sure. Prior to 2021, I would not have considered myself a READER, a SPEAKER, a WRITER or a PUBLIC figure. Now my bookshelf is full, my wish list long, and my Bible always open. Now I speak publicly to audiences across the Twin Cities metro. Now I write daily journal entries, weekly letters, and monthly blog articles. Now I regularly attend locally governed meetings, am a delegate in shaping the GOOD of the party, and am running for School Board for the second time. I have influenced elections by working with and for the community, such as Demand a Better Plan’s Vote NO Campaign.
