This Little SCHOOL+HOUSE – Weather and Climate: A Christian supplement to the global government education system of South Washington County Schools who operates under the state of Minnesota (MDE). This study will rightly order natural universal law as a supplement to the American Reading Company’s core reading instruction and curricula designed for grades K-5 and implemented by SoWashCo Schools since about 2021 or shortly thereafter. PEACE WITH SELF will “destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). We will step back from ARC’s “Severe Weather Close-Up” to instead focus on the natural beauty of universal moral law governing weather, climate, and systems of human government, including that of the self. When human government establishes a moral code that aligns with God’s preordained moral law, we discover REAL peace. In His love we find REAL identity, belonging and purpose.

AN INTRODUCTION TO PEACE WITH SELF
“It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens. When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses.””
Weather & Climate
The vertical relationship of peace between God in heaven and man on earth turns counter-clockwise in direction as we consider PEACE WITH SELF. Here on earth we get to experience peace as a beautiful dance of duality in creation. This circular movement of peace conjures up imagery in my mind of planetary orbits, ocean wave currents, and weather pressure systems … in other words, weather and climate.
While the duality of creation found in weather brings me great peace, I can’t help but think of those dreams that spin me around in circles. In the Story of Peace I said “Think of the snake as a figure in the flesh who acts in opposition to the will of God … The snake stirs up a storm of trouble. He spins you around in circles going nowhere, like a tornado of your own angry energy.”
I have really had to wrestle with this truth over the course of writing Peace With Self. How is it there are two storms whipping around inside me? One is productive and one is not. I know God is good. Is the Holy Spirit also stirring up a storm inside? If so, then why?
First of all, let me say this; I feel sorely inadequate describing inner peace and tranquility as if I have it all figured out. I do not. I know how truly unhealthy and negative my inner dialogue can be. Therefore the answer to peace can in no way be found inside myself. Second of all, IF I am filled with the Holy Spirit (which I am), then why does he still allow me to suffer internal storms? Why am I not “fixed” yet?
The good news is, I think I’ve finally got it figured out! The bad news is, it’s way too complicated and complex to explain in one journal entry. I’ve divided it up into seven more articles with seven natural examples of peace in the universe. Wisdom is not just knowing what peace is XYZ but knowing that peace is XYZ.
Cultural Counterfeits
State elected officials and administrators of government education like to cast a negative light on the righteous (right) side of weather and climate, but this is disingenuous and establishes a culture of fear, chaos, disorder and anxiety among children as young as third grade in South Washington County Schools.
Despite the narrative of culture, natural laws appear to exhibit a peaceful duality of creation in nature and aid in a healthy human body. This is the foundation upon which many of the Christian schools I support teach: to the universal natural law. God’s creation is good – both left and right, high and low, top and bottom, clouds, lightning, fire, waves, wind, heat and snow; It’s all good.
Natural Moral Law
In fact, the same structural and systemic laws of nature running through the universe are running through the veins of human government – self, family, church and civil. This frameworks is not oppressive or racist as the Culture and Climate of state government will call it. This structural and systemic law is not opinion-based or ideological in nature as the ARC evidence-based “scientists” will label it. Natural law is not a mountain to be conquered for the humanist pride of self actualizing, self transcending or self glorification.
Peaceful systems are observable, experiential, knowable and factual under the universal natural law. When human government establishes a moral code that aligns with God’s preordained moral law, we discover REAL peace. In His love we find REAL identity, belonging and purpose.
REAL or FAKE
You may remember the REAL or FAKE series I began in 2024? At that time, the Holy Spirit challenged me, “Find what is real. Start simple. Study that. See its genesis. See its birthplace.” (Jaime’s Journal, January 2024 entry). In the diagram below you will notice the REAL duality of creation is on the right and its counterfeit is on the left. Peace With Self will focus primarily on THE DUALITY OF PEACE (right).
SELF - GOVERNMENT
Peace
The Duality of a NATURAL SYSTEM OF LAW (right) is made of a left and a right hemisphere. Wholeness requires a harmonious high and low, north and south, up and down: in other words a top and bottom, center and four sides. Its purpose is to sustain life.
Real creation GROWS.
The Duality of a MANUFACTURED SYSTEM OF LAW (left) is made of one hemisphere or the other, but not both. It’s inability to reach that coveted peak experience is binding and unsatisfying. It’s mock moral code will end in catastrophe. Its purpose is self-promotion, self-euphoria and self-actualization.
A Straight Path
TAKING THE CUE FROM BIBLICAL STRUCTURE, SCIENCE, ART, NATIONS, HISTORY AND NATURE
The story of Jesus Christ begins with the creation of the heavens and the earth when the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2). The Author starts the story from afar then moves in closer and closer to the earth where a personal relationship unfolds. Peace matures in the world through God’s chosen people who carry the seed of their end in their beginning.
Notice how the Bible tells the story of Peace. It leads from afar in a straight line to the heart of man.The biblical story of Peace rests in God’s promises. It does not waste pages on the cursed. Since the wicked are only mentioned as a tool to rebuke God’s loved ones, I will try not to focus on them as the problem since they are the rod, the corrective tool of discipline.
What is man that God should be mindful of him? (Psalm 8:4) Obviously man is someone special for God to have made him for a little while lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet (Hebrews 2:7-8). For God built this vast and expansive foundation of a world for man to grow up in, play with, learn from and mature into righteousness.
Peace in Restful spaces
Look at all that empty space in the universe! Isn’t it fantastic! The art critic knows that empty space is a tool of the trade used to direct the eye toward the most splendid of desirable treasure. God’s chosen people shine like a diamond (Church) in this vast expanse of space. Like the blank wall of an art museum that showcases a Rembrandt … or the plush deep blue velvet pillow that features the king’s crown.
I believe this is why God calls His people to remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. We are to be set apart from the world by our God who gives us rest every day, every week, every month, and on that final day.

My Perspective
I am not a therapist nor have I studied the mind of every human condition there is to know, so I am not presenting for you the result of any science experiment so much as I am presenting for you the simple patterns of creation every person may attest to in their own daily life. No matter the matter, inanimate or animate, peaceful systems of order and balance are made knowable and observable by the Maker.
Like I said before, this study is not about me or my experience. Peace is not something I can seem to find within myself, however it is important, at least for this article, to explain where I am coming from: process, past and perspective.
WORKS – I relate to the mind of the Maker as a creative person – one who lives to work out the beautiful patterns of meaning God has created for His glory. My main source of inspiration comes from studying the Word of God written into the pattern of creation and testified to by His chosen people in the Holy Bible.
ANXIETY– I am no stranger to anxiety and depression. Fortunately or unfortunately, therapy is a part of my past story. Because of this experience, I know what an unhealthy dialogue sounds like. I know the medication that “experts” in the field prescribe to numb the pain. I know how it all feels, sounds, tastes, smells and looks.
CHILD BIRTH – It is through suffering and pain that I brought two beautiful children into this world. It is also through water and fire that I am baptized a new person into new life by the power of the Holy Spirit. Both have involved a stormy sea and deep waves of painful birth.
Walk in the Spirit
The vertical relationship of peace between God in heaven and man on earth turns counter-clockwise in direction as we consider PEACE WITH SELF. Here on earth, we get to experience so many beautiful dances of duality in creation, many of which are invisible. A peaceful system is invisible and yet knowable. This is why I have chosen to use the external forces of law at play between weather and climate as an analogy to the internal forces at play between flesh and spirit.
Left & Right
It is extremely important to point out that the natural polarization between Left and Right hemispheres is good. In the DUALITY OF PEACE, I will not be labeling one side good and one side bad. God’s creation is good – all of it – and it is up to Him to judge, not me. There is a pattern emerging as I pay attention to the interplay of dominant and subordinate sides within natural world and the written word (Bible). This is where I want to begin studying PEACE WITH SELF.

Conclusion
There are three persons of the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and there are three directions to peacemaking. In Peace With God, we studied the vertical movement of peace between God and man (that is moving from invisible to visible). In Peace With Self, we are now studying the circular movement of peace between flesh and soul (that is, moving from visible to invisible and invisible to visible). I hope to finish this seven part series (plus intro) by the first day of school in September. Then we’ll be moving on to Peace With Man in October studying the horizontal movement of peace between man and man (that is, moving from visible to visible).

Make Straight Paths in 2026
The theme for 2026 is “Make Straight Paths” as a way for the believer to prepare his/her heart, soul, mind and strength for the second coming of Christ. We can know how to do this by following John the Baptist’s lead who baptized sinners in the water Jordan for the glory of God. We can trust that God will go before us to level high ground, open closed doors and cut through thick bars (Isaiah 45:2).
Moses divided the water with his staff at God’s instruction. As prophesied, John the Baptist prepared the way for the LORD at His first coming and in so doing divided the Old Testament from the New.
THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION. Lord, Forge Us With Fire As A Body Of Christ – The Church!
When you are one in Christ, your body is a temple of the living God. You are His house of prayer, His school of study, His place of assembly, and His center of military training. 1 John 4:1-4 tells us we are to learn the difference between His Spirit and the spirit of the antichrist who is now in the world. We are to test the allegiance of EVERY spirit and teach our children to do the same.
