The Holy Spirit is eternal and unseen. He is a hidden force that draws me to God like the magnetism and gravity that shapes the entire universe. Without the earth falling into the sun, we would go off into space along a straight path. We take for granted this knowledge today and yet, up until the 17th century, Kepler and Newton’s laws of planetary motion were unknown to man.
This goes to prove that human knowledge does not change the thing itself, but rather changes a people’s heart posture toward the true ideal. It is not the Creator who changes, but the creature. In seeking out and discovering Truth, man’s soul turns to face the immutability of Grace Himself. Peace with self is about Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, Redeemer, Prophet, Priest and King. Do you recognize the shift away from self? My belief in the invisible peace-producing force of gravity does not change the planetary peaceful orbit itself, but rather changes me. The trajectory of my aim shifts away from believing I am the immovable center of the universe and instead I move into orbit around the Light of the world, redeemed and set apart (sanctified) by the power of the Holy Spirit. This series is a Christian supplement to the global education system, however you do not need to be a Christian to read this article. It is written with all people in mind – believers and non-believers – because God didn’t just make you to fill up space. Your life has eternal meaning and purpose.
What is your Source of Peace?
This is where the Trinitarian order of origin from Topic #1 : WHO IS PEACE WITH SELF? comes into play. My source of peace must be properly ordered – centered first on the eternal Father, second on the eternal Son, and third on the eternal Holy Spirit. In other words, my source of peace cannot succumb to death or it ceases to be relevant. My source of peace must also be able to answer the problem of suffering, pain and death.
In Topic #1, I chose to focus not on self interiority as my source of peace, but on the Godhead – His interior order of origin, His exterior works in the world, and His unchanging immutable character. This is to make God’s Eternal Kingdom the center of my life, to see creation through His eternal perspective and to recognize that the pattern of His peace making process is being made known now to those who can truly see and hear.
In Topic #2, I will reverence God’s sanctuary which is the expanse of heaven between the waters above and the waters below – also know as earth’s atmosphere – where the Holy Spirit does His great work. “The atmosphere is a vast layer of gases that surrounds earth and is kept in place by gravity … It protects life by blocking harmful solar radiation and maintaining stable temperatures.” (How-Does-It)

When the Holy Spirit began His ministry of indwelling the early church, His presence sounded to man like a mighty rushing wind. His presence looked to man like divided tongues as of fire resting on each believer.
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
What does that mean, exactly?
Scripture describes the mystery of Pentecost by using the language of weather and climate. The earth is God’s temporal schoolhouse of learning because it has eternal lessons to teach. Wind is driven by the sun’s heat and the earth’s gravitational force.
What is WIND?
Wind drives weather systems. Weather and wind can occur only in an atmosphere. An atmosphere is made up of layers of gas surrounding planets and other objects and is a sanctuary made possible by the protective magnetosphere. Wind needs an energy source to get it going. Since the sun’s energy heats the surface of the earth unevenly, due to the different absorption rates of land and water, air pressure builds up and moves the air around. Hot air moves toward cold air, creating wind.
A Peaceful Climate
GRAVITY DRIVEN AIR CONVECTION
In the northern hemisphere, air within a low pressure system moves counter-clockwise (opposite in southern), inward, and up as air within a high pressure system moves clockwise (opposite in southern), outward and down. These two pressure systems exist as a symbiotic dance of duality within nature. Neither can function without the other.
“When air is heated by the sun, it rises, creating a low-pressure area. Conversely, when air cools, it descends, resulting in a high-pressure area. These pressure differences cause the air to move from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas, as the pressure tries to equalize.” (saVRee)
Air Pressure
The weather patterns and climates that we experience on a daily basis are shaped by the sun’s heat and the inherent need for all matter to equalize under the gravity of our atmosphere. The larger the pressure difference, the stronger the force. As for wind, the larger the air pressure difference, the stronger the wind.
Winds benefit the land by multiplying, fertilizing and sustaining the living plants and animals that occupy its surface. Winds carry the pollen that fertilize plants. Winds disperse seeds across great distances. Winds also strengthen young seedlings and plants by pushing against them, triggering the release of a hormone that strengthens their stems and cells.

For example, a plane leaving the North Pole and heading for the Equator does not reach its goal directly, as it is deflected to the right. This phenomenon is called the Coriolis force, and it applies to the movement of solid matter (ie airplanes) and non-solid matter (ie air molecules). Thus winds are forced into a circular motion around low pressure zones.” (Kids Britannica.com)

During the current climate age, peace does not take the form of a straight path, but a spiral. I’ll be honest, I did not see this coming until I began writing PEACE WITH SELF. If we are to have peace in this world, we might begin looking at weather and climate with eternal eyes.
Make Straight Paths
This year’s theme, Make Straight Paths, is now taking on a whole new layer of meaning as I consider the complexity of peaceful systems within God’s Temporal Kingdom. The laws that govern a universe with physical mass will govern it’s peace differently than a universe without mass. Wind and fire behave differently within gravity than without.
Consider the work of God: who can make straight what he has made crooked?
Human Perspective
I think most of us can agree on what peace feels like. The thing that divides us is a matter of human perspective. What is the source of your peace? If you orbit the temporal ideal, your source of peace differs from someone who orbits the eternal ideal. Curiously, both kingdoms are of God. The Temporal Kingdom collides with the Eternal. It is like two solar systems crashing into one another … or two storms.
Two Kingdoms
TWO SPINNING STORMS
I believe the dualing storms that rage inside man’s soul are a result of man’s fall into sin and are designed this way, not to harm us, but to save us from the curse of Death. In much the same way as the heat of the day and the cool of the night aid gravity driven convection here on earth, the Spirit and the flesh do battle inside every believer to bring about a Pentecost of power.
Eternal
“The eternal is beyond time; it is the realm of God, everlasting life and salvation.” (Veith)
Analogically speaking, I liken the invisible force of the Spirit to the awesome power that rules our solar system. The Holy Spirit is as active, organized and powerful a governor of man’s body as those foundational forces of the world that make it structurally stable. My world might be changing, but the center of peace that I orbit is fixed. The sun may be dangerously hot, but God’s sanctuary on earth is made to protect me as it was in the beginning, the first climate age of Eden. I am covered by the blood of Jesus, and death is no longer an instrument of torture but of salvation.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
The source of PEACE dwells in the Eternal Kingdom. To orbit the eternal is to live because when Jesus dies, he rises up and lives!

Temporal
“The temporal is within time; it is the realm of change, instability and what passes away. Creation is time bound, and, as part of the temporal order, so are we. We grow up, grow old and die.” (Veith)
There once was a time when the Geocentric worldview was as much a doctrine of religion as it was of natural philosophy. The western civilized world believed the Sun revolved around a fixed Earth (NASA). This changed with the scientific discoveries of Nicolaus Copernicus (1515), Galileo, Johannes Kepler (1610), and Sir Isaac Newton (1687), all of which revealed the errors of this worldview.
We have known that the Earth is not the center of the Universe for hundreds of years. There is scientific evidence to prove it, and yet the egocentrism and pride of man always leads him back to a Geocentric form of self worship.
All matter of the universe obeys the law of its being in perfect freedom … all matter that is, except man. Man is the only matter in the universe that is tempted to contradict its own nature (paraphrase of Sayers). All the evidence in the world will not stop man from choosing to be solidified into the bars of his eternal dungeon. He has no means of escaping death and so conducts his scientific research in denial and fear of death. He exchanges the natural order of creation for a lie in service to himself and his earth – two temporal bodies.
Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
The Temporal Kingdom is not inherently bad. God created it. But it has been cursed. It groans under the control of Death. To orbit the temporal is to die.
Government organizations like SoWashCo Schools, who support UNESCO’s 17 Sustainability Goals, pitch a source of peace that is temporal. That’s okay. God’s got a plan. Since their gods cannot defeat Death, the earth becomes their source of peace. If this is you, and you buy into UNESCO’s peace plan, do you sometimes feel like you are spinning in circles going nowhere? Do you feel empty and worn out? Are you falling into a pit of anger and despair? Does the energy you expend feel like it’s being done in vain? Does the temporal god you serve have an answer or an action plan for defeating Death?
Krishna died. Zoroaster died. Buddha died. Mohammad died. Gandhi died. Bahá’u’lláh died. So many messianic figures died, and their movement died with them. You will die. I will die. I urge you to grab a Bible and start reading. Find out more about the eternal God of the universe who saves and does not die.

WEATHER AND CLIMATE
Minnesota legislators and local school board members are routinely voting education policies into law that promotes curriculum highlighting the extreme global weather and climate catastrophes that cause severe humanitarian crisis. Some areas do experience suffrage due to weather, but putting Climate Action on third grade students will not improve their mental health.
The ARC Reading curriculum asks the question:
Can you tell the climate is changing?
“Scientists across the world agree that Earth’s climate is getting hotter and that the main reason for this change is the actions people take that pollute our planet.”

SoWashCo Schools does not just ask the question once during their third grade unit on Weather and Climate. They ask it repeatedly – week after week, month after month – and they continue to follow it up year after year with compounding curricula to support UNESCO’s Climate Action initiatives.

Much like social media algorithms capitalize on the dopamine hit of one false extreme after another, the school district is no better. They continually hammer into young impressionable minds this idea that current weather patterns are, more often than not, phenomenons of catastrophe, disaster, harm and rich people’s doing.

Dear Christian Parent,
The “prior knowledge” ARC challenges your student to “contradict” and replace with “new knowledge” is the knowledge the Lord our God commands you teach diligently to your children. You are to talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. These words you are to bind as a sign on your hand, and as frontlets between your eyes, to write on the doorposts of your house and on your gates (paraphrase of Deuteronomy 6:4-9). These words the Lord our God commands we teach our children are being labeled “hate speech” in SoWashCo classrooms today.
This knowledge is the self-evident kind children somehow naturally understand before their first day of kindergarten. The truth is, earth’s atmosphere is a life-sustaining sanctuary like none other in our solar system. Our winds pale by comparison to that of Jupiter, for instance.
Anxiety & Depression
My critique of South Washington County Schools has been consistent these past five years since pulling my children out of the district. I believe it is a system that intends to harm children, in the eternal perspective, but that serves a purpose only God can fully understand.
When reading SoWashCo curriculum, my common response is to say, “That’s it? That is where the story ends? You are going to leave children in a state of hopelessness and despair, and then you are going to blame the mental health crisis on an epidemic of phone-based childhood and helicopter parenting?” (reference to the Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt)

ARC scientists are not lying when they teach children that the climate is changing. It is true. The climate IS changing in the same way a 90 year old body changes as it ages. The weather IS more severe today than it was in the Garden of Eden before the fall. The change IS the fault of man and his sinful nature.
The better question to ask is, WHY?
WHY is the climate changing?
The climate is changing because matter is temporal. The temporal is within time; it is the realm of change, instability and what passes away. Creation is time bound. It grows up, grows old and dies.
To avoid the inevitability of death is to starve ones self of truth. Peace with self is not found in any substance of finite matter. Peace with self is made in the eternal!
Law of Motion
Newton’s First Law Of Motion says: An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. NASA explains, “Without gravity, an Earth-orbiting satellite would go off into space along a straight line. With gravity, it is pulled back toward Earth. A constant tug-of-war takes place between the satellite’s tendency to move in a straight line, or momentum, and the tug of gravity pulling the satellite back.” (NASA Space Place)
The moon travels around the the earth counter-clockwise as both simultaneously spin and orbit around the sun in the same counter-clockwise direction.
A Peaceful Orbit
MOMENTUM & FORCE
An orbit is the curved path a satellite follows around the Earth due to gravitational force. “An object’s momentum and the force of gravity have to be balanced for an orbit to happen. If the forward momentum of one object is too great, it will speed past and not enter into orbit. If momentum is too small, the object will be pulled down and crash. When these forces are balanced, the object is always falling toward the planet, but because it’s moving sideways fast enough, it never hits the planet.” (NASA Space Place – Explore Earth and Space!)
The Holy Spirit leads your soul into peaceful orbit around Christ like the force of gravity that holds earth in peaceful orbit around the sun.

God loves you, and He has a plan for your life. He didn’t just make you to be born, breathe and die. He made you to labor – in both the perishable and imperishable sense. He made you to question, seek, find, organize, discover, solve, and search out the eternal riddles of life in store for you. God made you unique, with talents and gifts like no other, that when put to good use for His kingdom hum like a tuning fork and smell as pleasing aroma to the Lord. Peace With Self Is WHEN & WHERE?
This process has been so good, I should know better than to set deadlines. My goal was to be on to PEACE WITH MAN this month, but the Spirit has had other plans. “WHEN” will explore the element of water and “WHERE” the element of land.
Make Straight Paths in 2026
The theme for 2026 is “Make Straight Paths” as a way for the believer to prepare his/her heart, soul, mind and strength for the second coming of Christ. We can know how to do this by following John the Baptist’s lead who baptized sinners in the water Jordan for the glory of God. We can trust that God will go before us to level high ground, open closed doors and cut through thick bars (Isaiah 45:2).
Moses divided the water with his staff at God’s instruction. As prophesied, John the Baptist prepared the way for the LORD at His first coming and in so doing divided the Old Testament from the New.
THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION. Lord, Forge Us With Fire As A Body Of Christ – The Church!
When you are one in Christ, your body is a temple of the living God. You are His house of prayer, His school of study, His place of assembly, and His center of military training. 1 John 4:1-4 tells us we are to learn the difference between His Spirit and the spirit of the antichrist who is now in the world. We are to test the allegiance of EVERY spirit and teach our children to do the same.
