South Washington County, MN

Your CITY and DISTRICT meetings with website tabs for finding TIME and LOCATION.

October Meetings

Beginning this month, the school district has scheduled listening sessions for SoWashCo residents to weigh in on the very important topic of facility planning. If you can’t make one in October, they continue into November as well, so get them on your calendar now and don’t miss out on the opportunity to share your feedback (Link to the district tab for more information).

Commit to attend a meeting this month around your town. Our elected officials need resident engagement in order to best do their jobs.

City and district planning happens months (even years) prior to implementation. Be ACTIVE by attending meetings regularly and speaking up DURING the process. Don’t wait until AFTER votes have been cast.

Featured Event

In addition to posting a monthly calendar of City and School District meetings, I also post a “Featured Event” with parents in mind. This month, Minnesota Parents Alliance is hosting a Fall Gathering which speaks directly to the issues I write about at JAiME for SCHOOLS.

“PARENTS ARE THE SOLUTION”

After the presentation, a moderated discussion will take place by Katherine Kersten and Catrin Wigfall.

Rebecca Friedrichs

Rebecca’s book, Standing Up To Goliath, was one of my foundational references in writing Slave to SCHOOL : The Mind Captive in Servitude (Link to my article HERE). For anyone who is interested in knowing about the money and power behind corrupt state and national teachers’ unions, Rebecca’s book reveals very powerful real-life stories through a dozen different personal accounts. She was a public school teacher for twenty-eight years, and in 2016 she (along with 9 other teachers) argued their case before the U.S. Supreme Court, Friedrichs v California Teachers Association.

She fights to bring integrity back to her profession, back to our schools, and back to our nation. After her fight to end forced unionism in court AND after publishing her book, Rebecca did not stop there. In 2018 she and her husband Charles founded For Kids and Country (Link to their website HERE). Then in 2022 Rebecca produced “Whose Children Are They?” If you would like to see the movie, stay tuned in to JAiME for SCHOOLS, because I will be hosting a showing in Woodbury this November.
