2026 Election Voting Tips

November 2, 2026

Over the past week I have been posting quite a bit on Facebook about the candidates who will appear on your November 3, 2026 ballots in South Washington County, Minnesota. This journal entry will conclude my research and include the final sorting of candidates by their stance on education. The words of Dorothy Sayers have challenged me not to see SoWashCo Schools as a problem to be solved but as a “human situation subject to the law of human nature, whose evil is at all times rooted in its good, and whose good can only redeem, but not abolish, its evil.” Do you believe in the power of spiritual redemption? If so, then please, over the next 24 hours, join me in fasting prayer and supplication for the families, teachers, staff, students, administrators, and residents of this area to receive the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Pray that the LORD our God, in His mercy and grace, will cleanse our school district from all unrighteousness. Pray the Holy Spirit will convict us of our sinful nature (such as the purchasing of wicked school curriculum, the passing of wicked school policy, the election of wicked office holders, and the whoring after false idols) for it is all vanity. Pray we, as a district, come to the knowledge and understanding that our greatest NEED is not to be found in a global industrial workforce whose labor produces meaninglessness, but that our greatest NEED is to be found in Christ Jesus, who Himself is the Light and Life and Love of the world. If it be the will of our Father in heaven, pray the residents of South Washington County will elect candidates of moral upright character into human office this election season and turn the shadow of turning away from Death toward eternal Life. Thank you for praying with me in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Peace With Self Is WHAT?

The Holy Spirit is eternal and unseen. He is a hidden force that draws me to God like the magnetism and gravity that shapes the entire universe. Without the earth falling into the sun, we would go off into space along a straight path. We take for granted this knowledge today and yet, up until the 17th century, Kepler and Newton’s laws of planetary motion were unknown to man.
This goes to prove that human knowledge does not change the thing itself, but rather changes a people’s heart posture toward the true ideal. It is not the Creator who changes, but the creature. In seeking out and discovering Truth, man’s soul turns to face the immutability of Grace Himself. Peace with self is about Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, Redeemer, Prophet, Priest and King. Do you recognize the shift away from self? My belief in the invisible peace-producing force of gravity does not change the planetary peaceful orbit itself, but rather changes me. The trajectory of my aim shifts away from believing I am the immovable center of the universe and instead I move into orbit around the Light of the world, redeemed and set apart (sanctified) by the power of the Holy Spirit. This series is a Christian supplement to the global education system, however you do not need to be a Christian to read this article. It is written with all people in mind – believers and non-believers – because God didn’t just make you to fill up space. Your life has eternal meaning and purpose.

Peace With Self Is WHO?

This Little SCHOOL+HOUSE – Weather and Climate. TOPIC #1 “WHO” is the Holy Spirit. The third Person of the Trinity is often symbolized in the church as a dove, and yet we know the Holy Spirit is not literally a dove in the material sense. The Spirit is a social power of unity and diversity who proceeds from the Father and the Son as an immaterial and invisible force. He is everywhere! He is in the spiraling solar winds that extend out into the Sun’s magnetic energy field. He is in the extension of God’s right hand. He is in the spiraling weather, wind, rain and lightning. And He is in my soul who insists on being breathed forth through this process of spiration. PEACE WITH SELF is a Christian supplement to the global government education system of South Washington County Schools whose ARC Core Weather and Climate curricula marches in lockstep with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #13 Climate Action. Here, we will step back in time to the first days of creation when God spoke two great lights into being and set an entire universe in motion. Weather and climate is orderly, balanced, beautiful and under His control. With the help of the Bible, man can, if he so wishes, trace the origin of weather and climate back to the very beginning of time to discover that weather and climate has been given a ruler, and its ruler is not man. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James 1:17

This Little SCHOOL+HOUSE – Weather and Climate: A Christian supplement to the global government education system of South Washington County Schools who operates under the state of Minnesota (MDE). This study will rightly order natural universal law as a supplement to the American Reading Company’s core reading instruction and curricula designed for grades K-5 and implemented by SoWashCo Schools since about 2021 or shortly thereafter. PEACE WITH SELF will “destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). We will step back from ARC’s “Severe Weather Close-Up” to instead focus on the natural beauty of universal moral law governing weather, climate, and systems of human government, including that of the self. When human government establishes a moral code that aligns with God’s preordained moral law, we discover REAL peace. In His love we find REAL identity, belonging and purpose.

God-Sized Peace

How big IS my God? What is it that defines His perimeter? If I were to draw God’s kingdom onto a map, where inside or outside the universe does Infinity dwell? In power, presence and knowledge, what is the core of Eternity? Where is He in relation to the galaxy? Just how big, just how strong, just how present is my God that the earth should orbit His sun? Just how big, just how strong, just how present is my God that the ocean should bow down to His majesty? Just how big, just how strong, just how present is my God that His love should blanket the earth? Consider the blueprint of creation. What is man? Those in the state of Minnesota who promote centers of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, suggest Gods LAW and LOVE are “fruitless folly.” This should be no surprise. We live in the kingdom of darkness. Yet God is to mankind as the sun is to the earth. All eat by it, sleep by it, grow by it, see by it, live by it, reproduce by it, die by it… All. THIS IS LAW. THIS IS LOVE. THIS IS GOD.

Peace With God

This journal entry is written with the youth of America in mind. Many of you have experienced so much manufactured “faith” that you don’t trust it anymore, but peace with God requires faith… real faith. Many of you do not trust the government, and I don’t blame you. You have been sold a bill of goods most your school-aged life, but if any generation is equipped to recognize real faith when they see it, it is you. This story of peace with God will challenge both manufactured faith and the finite lords of governance. Jesus Christ is the infinite Lord. How do we find peace with God when there are so many counterfeits to contend with? I’ll tell you how I find peace with God. I look for the beautiful phenomenon that is the Lord in my world. He shines forth like a ray of sunlight through His followers who glitter like diamonds. I believe God reveals His Son in the same way as He revealed the burning bush to Moses – in the shining forth of a miraculous object to behold. What will you do when you find the Person of peace with God? Will you watch? Will you listen? Will you take off your shoes in reverence when you realize the ground on which you stand is holy? Will you open up your heart to the seemingly impossible? Will you humble yourself in a posture of complete servitude to the King of kings and Lord of lords? Peace with man is something you make, but peace with God is something you receive.

Story Of Peace

IN THREE DIRECTIONS The story of Peace is a beautiful one. It is the story of healing. It is the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection. It is a rescue story that pierces bone and marrow. It is a hero’s story, a marriage story, a loved and lost and found story. What happens to a child who grows up not knowing Jesus? What does that child grow up to become? Lost, wandering, anxious, searching, spinning, quarreling, hating. Conflict is the norm. Chaos is the norm. Disorder is the norm. These are stormy seas and turbulent times. Man is not inherently good. Have you ever walked a dying friend down the Roman Road to salvation? I have. It’s a difficult road to walk when your loved one, who grew up just down the hill attending church, has never owned a Bible, has never sought the Savior, has feared not God but man. Now she sits before me on her death bed blaming God. “I had nothing to confess,” said she to the Priest one week before. “It’s not like I ever killed a person,” her angry heart shot forth. The tears of God I felt, I let wash over me in sorrow, not for judgement or for fright or for anger or for might, but for silent retrospection for this place I know too well. Always spinning, never moving, one step forward two steps back. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) I heard my words say softly. It’s this first most difficult step toward peace on the Roman Road to salvation.

Make Straight Paths

What is the purpose of education, actually? This is a question I’ve been asking for a year. I see no reason why the purpose of education for a Christian should not be the same as God’s first commandment. You shall learn to love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength (Mark 12:30). See what four SoWashCo School Board candidates, who now sit on the board, had to say about the purpose of education when asked last October. Their answers are in quite stark contrast to “learning to know God.” This spiritual duality is easy to identify. It is like a picture of the serpent and the dove from Matthew 10:16, but the duality of political ideology in government remains a mystery to me. It should follow the same pattern as all other dualities of creation – like the left and right brain, the expanding and contracting of muscles, the rise and fall of convection, or the woman and the man of marriage – but this is not so with political ideology. If harmony is to be found in the balance and orbit of two opposing forces drawn together by a central unifying core, then God must have a purpose for the duality of governance in His kingdom. We might think of the political debate like a dance of differences or a game of theatrical nonsense which serves as the most useless thing and the most useful thing simultaneously. Of course, all games require rules, boundaries and referees. The key to a harmonious duo is the core in which it orbits. In the case of civil government, LAW is to be the central animating spirit that pulls these two opposing forces into harmony. Without the rule of law, peace cannot exist.

Language of War on Life

International Literacy Day was on September 8th, at which time UNESCO spotlit literacy “as a lever for empowerment and transformation to build more inclusive, just and sustainable societies.” They also celebrated progress in literacy at the global, regional, national and local levels. This is the language of war, and we can see this in many Minnesota school districts, like SoWashCo Schools, who are proudly forming local education policy based on UNESCO’s definition of literacy. I understand why the globalists at UNESCO are celebrating, but why SoWashCo? UNESCO intends to achieve lasting world peace by targeting the mind (intellect) and soul (morality) of children through education, science and culture. Our locally elected school board was hired to represent local residents though, not the world. The mind and soul of my child is not the state’s property. In 2024, SoWashCo Schools began a campaign called, “Literacy Is Everywhere,” but literacy is not everywhere. Literacy is, in fact, nowhere to be found in the English language prior to the 1880’s when humanist (Atheist) activists like Mann dreamed up their socialist mass public education utopia. We know the intent was to starve the church her influence over moral absolutes in America, and yet in 1959, UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold said, “The ancient dream of mankind, reflected in the words of Isaiah…is the dream inspiring also the Charter.” Is the UN really inspired by Isaiah? or do they see themselves as part of his prophetic fulfillment?

To Whom The Votes Fall

On Tuesday, November 4th, residents of District 833 will vote into office their choice of four local governing school board authorities. You will notice that my voting criteria for school board does not begin with the candidate’s political affiliations or endorsements. This is because I believe the political process is merely a shallow veil of the deep deep depths of what fills a person’s soul. Gone are the school boards of yesteryear whose priorities were reading and writing. Now are the days of governing school boards puffed up on pride and progress, catering to the Maslowian needs of the populace. Today’s public school is about candy and gender, understanding and nonbinary etiquette. For the incumbent candidates, school is about nutrition services, transportation, sexual health, and professional development much more than it is about student proficiency. For incoming candidates new to this race, such as Juan Huerta, education is about making sure our children learn the fundamentals of academics and using critical thinking skills so that when they graduate they have the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to society in a positive way and become successful in whatever path they choose.

Language Of War On Death

Around 1446 BC, God led the nation of Israel out of Egyptian captivity through Moses. Forty years later, God led his people into the promised land of Canaan armed with his divine moral law. There is such a powerful dynamic at play here between the whole – unified center, abstract fringe, and timeless seed. There is also great insight for the battle we face today in these ancient stories of old. The nation of Israel succeeded in penetrating the strongholds of man NOT by using brute force or powerful weaponry. They succeeded by holding fast THE ARMOR OF GOD’S WORD in their heart, in their eye, in their body, in their step, in their mind, and in their mouth. The walls of Jericho fell down flat! Today, MDE is like a fortress of evil with thick walls that look impenetrable from outside, just like Jericho. Year after year we see quality candidates for school board run the race to win a seat at the table. They are parents, business men, home makers, and the like … yet no human effort or armor of man seems to affect the fortress for good. Seven centuries before the birth of Christ, Isaiah prophesied that the government shall be upon the shoulder of the Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Those who know the true person of Peace can recognize Evil’s vanity when they see it. The city of Jericho, and the way it was defeated, will give us valuable insight into the language of war we battle with today.

The Whole Child

The CDC has proposed a Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) Method, and MDE is now offering it as a “youth driven” grant opportunity. You will notice the “Whole Child Method” on the lips of many of today’s progressive educators, including an incumbent running for SoWashCo School Board. It is a common theme that has peaked my interest. These government institutions don’t just want one part of my child. They say it out loud, they want my whole child. What is the whole child if not part spirit? THIS IS THE LANGUAGE OF WAR. We need not fear it though because God equips us with the LANGUAGE OF PEACE. In my last two articles I covered the United Center and the Abstract Fringe. I have since discovered that wholeness, as it relates to peace, requires a third element – the Timeless Seed. The United Nations seems to think of this seed as “sustainability,” but they conveniently forget that REAL sustainability comes to us by way of the spirit, not by the way of a man-made world peace organization. Peace requires wholeness. For a child to be made whole, the body, soul and spirit must be in alignment under the Meek Cross of Christ.

To hear Policy 102.1 come forward for review last month has transported me back in time. I can still picture my husband and I getting in the car to pull our then ninth grader out of East Ridge High School due to the planned “student” protest over the Chauvin trial and racial equity that afternoon. This was the turning point for my family and our decision to pull the kids out of District 833 for good. I had trusted the public school system my entire life, but upon our return to in-person learning, the emphasis was no longer on academic achievement … and I began to realize it had never been. This year of lies and lawlessness at all levels gave me a new perspective on truth. If it were not for 2020, my kids might still be at ERHS and JAiME for SCHOOLS would not exist today. I would still be the timid, quiet, anxious, and indecisive person I once was prior to 2021. But like the flip of a divine switch deep within my core, black turned to white and white turned to black. It wasn’t the Fist of Man who changed my mind. It was the Cross of Christ who inverted my worldview. In turning away from the news of man and toward the Good News of Jesus Christ in 2021, I suddenly recognized the chaos and disorder of BLM for what it truly was. Good and evil, Right and wrong, Life and death all orbit around two sacred unifying centers – the MEEK CROSS OF CHRIST or the MIGHTY FIST OF MAN.

The Abstract Fringe

I’d like to introduce you to life on the edge, the fringe, or that which can only be understood from the outside looking in. The fringe typically functions as a space on the edge of the world for the abnormal to be normal. It is a space where distortion, surrealism and exaggeration is expected. Think of the skin of a pineapple or the bark of a tree. It is rough to the touch and difficult to penetrate. But once you get through the tough outer layer, its center becomes sort and uniform. This visual pattern carries out through all of creation and exists in sight, sound, taste, touch, feel, AND spirit. Borders and boundaries are a natural part of life. Barriers are meant to protect us. We have locks on the doors to our house, and we don’t give the key to just anyone. Robbers are not welcome inside my home, and neither is spiritual deception welcome in my child’s education. Parents generally do not give ALL PEOPLE free access to the core of their family (ie. child), and individuals certainly do not WELCOME ALL into the core of their being.

Pit Of Fake SUCCESS

You may be surprised to learn that experts of the state now consider “readiness” to be racist because that might make an unready child feel excluded. Every learner is now to be labeled “successful” when entering kindergarten, and therefore it is incumbent upon the teacher to be ready for the unready child. According to MDE, this is a more inclusive approach and corrects the wrongs of their previous (racist) ways. Enter the fake fortress of mass schooling built upon the back of fake success… By worldly standards, success is achieved through the accumulation of money, power and fame. In this way, we might think of success with a capital “S” because it behaves like a human with a head, heart and hands. In this age of mass production and consumption, Success takes on the shape of a giant – a Goliath of sorts. Worldly Success is quite different from Spiritual Success, and the story of David and Goliath is the perfect analogy (1 Samuel 17). Real Success is alive with growth and built-in sustainability while Fake Success dies by the metal of his own sword.

In 2020, the Governor’s Education Roundtable put together A Roadmap for Transformational Change in Minnesota Education that says, “We need to mobilize all of us – not just teachers and students – to nurture assets and DISMANTLE BARRIERS so every student and their family has all Minnesotans supporting their academic and personal growth.” On the other hand, Kelly Smith, Founder of Prenda, says his micro-schools are “BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS that will make it easier for people to start their own schools.” Meanwhile, One Stone, a school with no teachers, no tests and no grades, says they are “BREAKING DOWN the one-size-fits-all nature of a conventional classroom.” As you can see, there are a lot of proverbial BARRIERS BEING BROKEN DOWN these days, and they appear to be at war with one another. G.K. Chesterton said, “Whenever you remove any fence, always pause long enough to ask why it was put there in the first place.” Wise advice from a wise man. My question is, which SCHOOL+HOUSE is able to BUILD UP? Anyone can break down in a world ruled by the laws of gravity. Good or evil, real or fake – anyone can destroy – but only REAL things can grow up under this sun … only REAL is granted authority to build upward … only REAL has the soft heart needed for love … only REAL is able to truly hear His story (history) spoken … and only REAL is able to truly see the Word written into the fabric of creation. “This Little School+House” and the “Borders and Boundaries” series of 2025 will explore “What is education, actually?”

THE BIBLE IS: The Great “I AM”

GOD IS EVERYWHERE. He is Painter, Designer, Sculptor, Architect, Author, Poet, and Musician. The Subject Studies of education include Math, Science, History, Art, Reading & Writing, and they all find their origin story from the Bible. In the Gospel of John we get to see God the CREATOR through the giftedness of an artistic painter of words. In the Gospel of Luke we get to see God the PHYSICIAN through the giftedness of an educated doctor. THE BIBLE IS Literary Artistry. THE BIBLE IS VISUALLY God sculpting into shape the heavens and earth, the mountains and valleys, the people and places and spaces all giftedness shines. THE BIBLE IS AUDIBLY God speaking the breath of life into men like a musician breathing life into his orchestra. Without his breath, we cannot sing. Without his light we are formless and void. This series, The Bible Is Literary Artistry, shows how the Holy Bible qualifies, and even surpasses, the criteria listed as District 833 Literacy Skills.

Four Governing Bodies

I think many people have this glamorous idea of what it means to run for and hold a position of public office. They see the official looking campaign websites and flyers, the well-dressed candidates lined up behind official looking microphones sitting in places where important decisions take place by our city councils, school boards, state reps, governors, presidents, etc. , and many in the voting public forget that these are simply people just like you and me. Being in the public eye takes a lot of time … time that could have been spent around the dinner table or sporting event with family. Being in the public eye takes a lot of energy … energy that could have been used helping friends or serving at church. Being in the public eye takes a lot of money … money that could have been donated to improve the life of a stranger through important charity work. Being in the public eye takes a lot of courage and confidence to (knowingly) open yourself up to a public that will HALF love you and HALF hate you. However, when we understand the four mechanisms through which God has chosen to rule, we realize that taking our place in civil government is not only one of the most selfless acts of service we can offer to our neighbor, but it is also part of God’s great plan. Running for and holding a place of public office takes patience in yourself and in the process because your personal message will take on a public life of its own, and only through humility will you learn that self-control is the ONLY control left to claim.

THE BIBLE IS: Thy Kingdom Com(ing)

If the Bible is a message for us, then what IS that message? The Gospels of Jesus Christ are placed at the CENTER of the Bible, and they reveal how the Son of God became the new Adam and the new Israel to fulfill what Adam and Israel could not. The Gospels tell us WHEN and HOW Christ came, and right away Matthew introduces us to the King. This King does not look like any other king the world has ever seen. Why do you think that is? … There can only be one male lion in a kingdom. King Jesus first came to redeem us as a ransom for many from the counterfeit king. The Good News is that the REAL King paid off our debt to the FAKE king. It has been done! Our sins of indebtedness are forgiven. This is WHY Jesus came as a servant the first time SO THAT when He comes as King of His heavenly kingdom the second time we are not denied entry, but we are ushered in with all our sins washed clean by the blood of Jesus. The time is NOW to choose life with King Jesus or death with a counterfeit.

THE BIBLE IS: A Message for us

The Bible is a story from beginning to end that is so masterfully organized in its literary structure that no other story can compare – in depth, in metrical precision, in mathematical genius, in profound impact, and in communicating FUNCTION (purpose) simply through the Creator’s FORM (vessel). FORM TENDS TO NATURALLY FOLLOW FUNCTION in this way. There are three main aspects to every story – character, plot and setting. The first sentence of the Bible contains 7 Hebrew words, and the second sentence contains 14, and yet in just two simple sentences the Author establishes TIME, CHARACTER, ACTION, and PROBLEM. From there, we read about the SOLUTION to this problem, and it repeats in every book like the beat of a metronome to the end. Learn how to read the language of your child’s school by first learning the language of the Bible. The Good News may have more to teach us about our world than the news of man.

Game of Complimentary Opposites

Sometimes words just look like clutter on a page … Sometimes messages sound like noisy gongs and clanging cymbals (1 Corinthians 13:1) … especially with so many words being thrown at us day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, second… by… second. The Director of Teaching and Learning for Secondary education in South Washington County Schools says, “Literacy is Everywhere.” … To that I say, “Yes! Like most district communication, this is a message that SEEMS easy to understand.

In the same way as playing catch is about giving and receiving the ball, so too is literacy about messages given and received. Literacy is supposed to be a relationship of two after all … as in listening AND speaking … reading AND writing.

Not only is literacy everywhere, but so is the Bible, a book whose words miraculously harmonize with the Word of the world. As I turn my attention toward the Bible as Literature, the two-sided nature of literacy becomes very REAL. It cannot be a one-sided act or a single sensory experience alone.

Literacy and The WORD

A person who can read and write is considered “literate”, but what IS literacy if not for language, and what is language if not for words? In the conclusion of the JOURNEY series, I add a fourth Book Review to the mix. THE HOLY BIBLE is the language of God’s word. Your child’s school may not focus on teaching them biblical literacy directly, but the scholars they hire to create school curriculum are VERY well versed in Biblical knowledge. Here I explain how the Bible is a valuable resource of educational literacy for all children – historically, culturally, and (for some) spiritually. Who is the HERO of the Bible and who is the VILLAIN? We all know that decades ago, our nation systematically removed Bible education from the public school day. That in effect has conditioned Christian families into believing that the truth of their spiritual teacher is not compatible with the truth of their secular life. This is wrong, and I think the three books reviewed in this last series are proof that secular is not spiritually neutral.

JOURNEY With Eyes That Don’t See

What is a Public School District MADE OF? We have to begin by recognizing that every public school is made up of two sets of metrics – those that are FIXED and those that are VARIABLE. One of the best MEANS by which a school can impact positive change is through the literature it assigns. District 833’s PATHWAY OF LOWEST PROFICIENCY is Pullman Elementary to Oltman Middle to Park High School. The Book Review for this study is Slacker by Gordon Korman. Here children learn lessons in social etiquette, about being “positive and never negative,” and about how a JOURNEY of negligence, addiction, dishonesty, indulgence, selfishness, and sloth can reach a happy ending. Is it true that in sowing seeds of death we reap bountiful harvests? No. Sugary fillers do not nourish hungry minds but rather keep them in a state of starvation. If the END justifies the MEANS in Progressive Education, then what END do these MEANS seek to reach?

When You Vote Fake …

… fake becomes you. You take life as your right and then throw it away. When fake is what you manufacture, then fake is what you get … There will come a time when “mother” will be a forgotten word, and “father” a fictional character. In the end you will have helped usher in a new slave generation – kids without parents born of the government, raised into lawlessness, discarded by the counterfeit who sits on God’s throne … You put him there, but the irony is that God allows you your illusions of control … Who is really in control? … not the Man of Lawlessness. – Here I share with you my journal … words written in the dark. The handwriting may be mine, but the thoughts are not my own to claim. I trust that the Lord will do with it what He will.

JOURNEY of Two Mountains

Each mountain represents its own pathway, its own quest, its own treasure, its own spiritual end. Education is a gift of FREEDOM. Freedom can take one of TWO paths (and two paths only). Generation after generation passes by, and pretty soon fakeness become so embedded in a culture that reality is forgotten altogether. This article defines the characteristic traits of REAL and calls out FAKE for the counterfeit it is. The key to knowing what is REAL though is not to study the counterfeit, but to study the authentic.

This series distinguishes between the superficial and the substantive things we choose to surround ourselves with. Is there danger in building a Potemkin Village? The act of covering up unpleasant realities to the onlooker or pretending to be something we are not is done to mask a perceived insufficiency. The eye has a lot of power over the mind. To hide what is REAL is to eventually forget. For the individual and for the state, It is easy to see how FAKE becomes reality.

I have been out talking to business owners this past week about my campaign for school board, and it reminded me of how many children in this district grow up to live here as adults. Not only do many of our district children stick around to establish businesses and build our local economy, but some of those children run for public office in order to shape the future of the community they grew up in. So what does this mean for funding in education? Our local economic future is directly dependent on the SoWashCo School District’s ability to successfully educate it’s own population. A question I receive often is, “Why are you running for school board if you don’t have kids in the district?” This article explains why I think we ALL should be paying attention.

After filing a data request with District 833 to review the FLASH sexual violence prevention curriculum, I was surprised to discover reality flipped upside down. I expected to find a warning to children about stranger safety, or the grooming tactics of offenders, or the harmful effects of pornography, or the dangers of the $150 billion human trafficking industry. This kind of prevention was simply missing though. Instead, I learned about gender identity, stereotypes and inclusion.

What do HOME and FAMILY and DEATH have in common? I would not have tied these three subjects together if they had not all come crashing together for me last month. This leads me to ask the question, “Is home in a PERSON? Is home in a PLACE? Is home in an OBJECT?” Sophocles Antigone. The two opposing moral forces we still face to this day are LOYALTY TO THE STATE vs LOYALTY TO THE FAMILY. Unfortunately this play is no longer read by the majority of public school children in District 833. What is read is the FLASH Sexual Violence Prevention curriculum which vilifies the student’s parent, the parent’s religion, and any person who contradicts a gender inclusive base-line of learning.

Where have all the MEN gone? Modern feminists have spun the tale that men and women are the same, that women don’t need men, and that hypermasculinity is a violent threat to women and children. That is simply not true, yet this is what SoWashCo Schools’ gender inclusive sexual violence prevention curriculum teaches. What we really should be asking is, How many children enrolled in SoWashCo Schools live without a father in the home? I do not believe masculinity is toxic. I believe masculinity is critically important, not only for men but also for women and children.

The long awaited ruling by Administrative Law Judge, Jim Mortenson, over amendments proposed to MN Teacher Licensure and the required pedagogical standards, has finally been released. All but three of the rule changes proposed in the 86-page report were approved. It is sad. Most of the negativity, polarization, sexualization, and racially charged language remains firmly planted in the new licensure standards.

Student Data Privacy A new law that impacts schools and technology providers … and your children … Students are back to school using technology under a new student data privacy law which parents have not been made aware of. If this law is legitimately a life saving tool, then why is the knowledge of harm being withheld from the parent for so long? And why is a school district personnel or a government worker (both of whom are strangers to the family) allowed to track my child’s location and listen in on their conversation without parental notice or consent? Maybe the intention behind this provision is good, but it’s direction could potentially undermine parental rights. You can bet that WHAT CAN BE ABUSED, WILL BE ABUSED.
